Providing Unique Cultural Experiences to Our Community

The Chorus is in full swing of another busy season this year!

Our commitment to delivering artistically excellent experiences while still prioritizing the health and safety of the community has been at the forefront of our decision making, and we are excited to share some of what we have in store for everyone. You may be familiar with some our virtual choir performances from earlier this year of “Sing” and “Heal the World”. For the fall, we are taking things a step further with the production of the JCC’s first ever choreographed music video, which will feature a medley from Broadway’s Hamilton. Singers are depicted in historically accurate costumes, and was filmed at the historic Thomas V. Porter House in Downtown Jacksonville. Be on the lookout for the release of JCC’s Hamilton music video in the coming months!

Next, the JCC will be feeling the holiday spirit in preparation for our annual Cool Side of Yuletide Concert. The twist? This year’s concert will be a drive-in movie at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds in partnership with Sun-Ray Cinema. Gates will open two hours before show for guests to enjoy the lights and winter decorations fit for a family photo-op, beverages, food trucks, prizes, and more. The fairgrounds offer plenty of space to physically distance, while still bringing the community together to have fun participating in sing-alongs of holiday favorites and to watch JCC’s singers perform on the big screen. We can’t wait to see you there!

“Through music and your leadership, these children learn to perform in different languages while experiencing the diversity of an array of world cultures. The understanding they gain will serve them well as they enter adulthood.”

R. Randall Onstead, former President/CEO of Winn-Dixie

“The Chorus expands your musical horizons and helps you grow as a person. You are surrounded with other young people who have something in common…their love of music. I have learned that music does, indeed, bring people and cultures together. The music we sing brings people hope for a better future of understanding and cooperation.”

Jasmine, 16, Touring and Concert Choirs

“Being a part of the JCC has not only allowed Christian to experience the fun, excitement and pleasure of singing with friends, it has also helped him to develop a sense of confidence that comes from life skills of hard work and perseverance.”

Elaine Bourne, JCC Parent

“The JCC is more than just a chorus; it is truly a life-changing experience. The Chorus has opened me to new experiences, provided me with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and helped me discover singing is not just one of my interests but rather a lifelong passion.”

Emma, 17, Touring and Concert Choirs

“Music is such a valuable part of life. The way it enriches one’s life and encourages creativity, I do not believe anything else can do as much. We in Jacksonville are certainly blessed to have the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus.”

Scott C. Snyder, President, Compass Consulting Group
