Conductor - St. Johns County

Reports to: Program Manager

Rate: Based upon qualifications/experience

HoursPart-time, Monday afternoon rehearsals, a few annual performances and meetings. 
 

MISSION: 

The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus provides exceptional music education for children of diverse backgrounds creating impactful choral performances.
 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The primary duties of the Conductor are to direct rehearsals, performances, and assist the PAD in planning the concert season and auditioning. Other duties depending on the applicant's skills and qualifications may include rehearsing and coaching soloists, preparing smaller groups for run-out concerts, and education and outreach projects. 
 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

The successful applicant should possess a degree in music, and have a strong background in vocal music. Kodaly experience desirable. The applicant should also have knowledge of historical practices. Applicants should love working with young singers and be able to work collaboratively with artistic and administrative staff.

COMPENSATION: Starting at $30 per hour
