Singer scholarships

The Chorus’ growth, from 16 voices in 1995 to over 1,000 in year-long choirs and outreach programs today, illustrates its continued impact on our entire community here in Northeast Florida. Because music education is important to a child’s development, JCC offers a scholarship program to ensure every child who desires to participate may do so regardless of a family’s ability to afford tuition. On average, a third of our singers receive scholarships every year.

Scholarships provide tuition, and uniforms, and cover the cost of performances and trips — the chance of a lifetime for our region’s young children, many of whom have never left the state of Florida. Full and partial scholarships are provided to those singers who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate in The Chorus. In our 2018-19 season, 148 singers received such assistance, compared to 77 singers in our 2013-14 season. With the funding through events and donations, we hope to continue our scholarship assistance each season.

In addition to providing a high-quality music education to its singers, the scholarship program ensures diversity in Jacksonville Children's Chorus.
