TOURING CHOIR

The Touring Choir is for advanced singers in grades 6-12.

Touring Choir in Hendersonville, NC, 2021

Up to thirty singers may be selected for this choir annually. Our premier performing group offers a stimulating, comprehensive, and demanding choral repertoire requiring advanced musical skills. The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus has become one of America’s best youth choruses, performing at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, American Choral Director’s Association Conference, Piccolo Spoleto Festival, and the Irish Royal Academy of Music. The Chorus has released recordings of multicultural music and collaborated with many highly regarded composers and guest artists. New works are composed for The Chorus regularly and are an important part of its mission. Collaboration is also at the heart of The Chorus. The Chorus has collaborated with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Justin Hines, David Holt, Cuarteto del Sur, the African Children’s Choir, the Westminster Choir, and the St. Olaf Choir. In 2014, The Chorus hosted guest artist Amy Grant. In 2015, it welcomed actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth, and in 2017, Audra McDonald.

The advanced performance choirs offer a stimulating, comprehensive, and demanding choral repertoire requiring sophisticated musical skills. The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus is frequently seen at national sporting events and regularly makes local television appearances.
